1. Introduction
NutriC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use the NutriC mobile application (“App”). NutriC is designed to help users understand nutritional information from food products and receive AI-assisted scoring insights. This Privacy Policy complies with the requirements of both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
We collect two broad types of information: Personal Information (identifies you) and Non-Personal / Technical Information (device, analytics). We only collect what’s necessary for the features you use.
- Account information (optional): name, email address, password — if you create an account.
- Profile preferences: age group (e.g., adult, child), dietary preferences (e.g., vegetarian), allergens and product scoring preferences if you set them.
- Photos / Images: If you use the app’s product capture feature (camera or upload), we collect the images you submit. These images may be processed locally or on our servers to analyze product labels and ingredients.
- Support & Communication: messages, feedback, or support requests you send to us.
- Device & usage data: device model, OS version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, IP address, app usage logs, crash reports, and performance metrics.
- Analytics: aggregated and pseudonymized analytics about how you use the App (pages visited, features used) to improve service.
C. Third‑Party & Integration Data
- Third‑party services: If you sign in via Apple Sign‑In or similar providers, we receive basic account info such as name and email.
- Libraries & SDKs: may collect device and usage information for analytics or crash reporting.
We use information to:
- Process, analyze, and store captured images and product data used to generate nutrition scores.
- Extract nutrients from product packaging using AI.
- Personalize your experience (saved preferences, recent scans).
- Send transactional communications (account verification, updates).
- Improve the App via analytics and crash reporting.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell any personal information.
4. AI‑Based Nutritional Analysis
- Users capture and upload food product images.
- AI extracts nutrient information and ingredients.
- NutriC applies internal scoring logic to evaluate product nutrition value.
- AI generates a final nutritional conclusion and score.
5. Image Handling & Product Analysis
- Product images are used to extract label information and compute nutrition scores.
- Processing may occur on‑device or on our servers, depending on feature requirements.
- If processed on servers, images may be stored temporarily to allow scan history.
- Images are not used for advertising beyond functional app features.
6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We may share data in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: AI text extraction, crash analytics, secure hosting.
- Legal obligations: required for compliance with law.
- Business transfers: mergers, acquisitions, restructuring.
- Aggregated / de‑identified data: for analytics or reporting.
7. Data Retention
- Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for service functionality or legal requirements.
- Images and scans: retained for up to 12 months by default.

Where applicable, you have rights including:
- Access to your stored data.
- Correction of inaccurate information.
- Portability (structured machine‑readable export).
- Opt‑out of optional analytics.
